The Marketing Manager Malts and Premium will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the full Malts and Premium portfolio for Germany. Main brands include Laphroaig, Bowmore, Auchentoshan, Japanese Whiskys, Courvoisier as well as the Edrington brands Macallan, Highland Park, Glenrothes and Brugal Rum. His/her main responsibility will be to lead, develop and implement the short and long-term brand and portfolio strategies, the corresponding brand plans and required activations together with his direct reports and in co-operation with the international brand Marketing teams. He will also lead the QBRs for TEG and serve as a key contact for the brand owner.
This position is part of the German Brand Marketing team and reports directly to the Marketing Director Western Europe. The Marketing Manager will have a team of 4-5 direct reports.

 

Key tasks include:
• Development and implementation of long-term growth strategies for the defined brands aligned with the VIA objectives (where to play and how to win) and defined objectives and targets
• Development, implementation and tracking of the annual brand plans
• Agency Management and coordination: Media, PR, Creative, BTL, Social/Digital agency
• Development of annual media plans
• Development, implementation and tracking of consumer and brand activations
• Management and Control of the annual Marketing Budget
• Management of TEG as a third party brand: leading the QBRs with the brand owner and serve as a key strategic contact
• Definition and tracking of brand KPIs
• Close cooperation with the international brand teams
• Cross functional working with key departments to achieve annual targets and objectives (sales, trade Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain,….)
• Be lead country and partner for international projects
• Lead and develop a team of 4-5 direct reports

Qualifications & Experience

Requirements
• University degree-MBA or equivalent
• Min. 7-8 years of experience working in local or international Marketing, ideally with experience in Marketing for premium/luxury categories with strong emotional and aspirational relevance
• Proven experience in delivering long-term strategies and inspiring, successful activation plans
• Proven project Management and P&L Management experience
• Strong leadership skills
• Fluent English and German
• Excellent knowledge in MS Office

 

Preferences
• Experience working in Marketing and sales roles of an FMCG blue chip company
• Experience in the spirits industry
• Experience working in an international environment
• Experience in working in or knowledge of the retail and on-trade market
