Deerfield, Ill., and Glasgow, Scotland – April 24, 2013 – Beam Inc. [NYSE:BEAM], a leading global premium spirits company, and Edrington, Scotland's leading international premium spirits company, have announced today that consumer packaged goods veteran Yuri Grebenkin will succeed Bill Mateo as General Director of Maxxium Russia.
Earlier this year, Mateo announced his intention to leave the business after more than seven successful years, at which time a search for his successor got underway. Mateo will work closely with Grebenkin, who joins the organization April 24, to ensure a seamless leadership transition for the distribution joint venture. Mateo is scheduled to depart the business end of June.

Grebenkin is a proven leader with inspirational leadership capabilities and a strong record of building brands and driving market outperformance. He brings more than 20 years of consumer packaged goods experience working for several best-in-class companies such as Colgate-Palmolive, Unilever and Bestfoods in General Manager and lead Country Manager roles. Grebenkin graduated from Moscow State University of International Relations and has a Harvard Executive MBA in General Management.
