[NYSE:BEAM], the leading American spirits company, has announced several key leadership appointments in the General Sales Manager ranks of its commercial team for the North America Region. The talent moves have been made to leverage top talent and further position the business for sustained profitable growth.
Steve Bjeldanes has been named General Sales Manager Southern Region, which encompasses responsibility for driving sales growth in the 14 states in which Southern Wine & Spirits is Beam’s distributor partner in the Open States. Bjeldanes will also retain responsibility for National Accounts. Bjeldanes has worked at Beam for the past eight years, including five years as General Sales Manager for Control States, Beam Canada and National Accounts.
Taking on the leadership role of General Sales Manager Beam Canada and Control States will be Julious Grant, who joins the Beam organization effective May 7. Grant has extensive 20 years’ experience in the spirits industry both within the U.S. and the global spirits market, most recently returning from the United Kingdom where he served as the President/Managing Director of Bacardi/Brown-Forman House for the UK & Ireland. Prior to his international role, Grant served as Senior Vice President – National Sales Director of Bacardi U.S.A., Inc. from 2007-2011. Previously, he has held senior sales and marketing roles at Moet Hennessy USA, Schieffelin & Somerset, Diageo North America and Seagram. Grant earned his undergraduate degree in Marketing from Bethune-Cookman University and a MBA from the University of Miami. He is also a Harvard graduate of the Advanced Management Program for International Senior Executives.
Tony Truzzolino, who previously held the role of Beam General Sales Manager Southern, will now be taking on a new position at Southern Wine & Spirits as Senior Vice President Sales working exclusively on behalf of the Beam business. Truzzolino will report directly to Brad Vassar, Executive Vice President, General Manager of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, and will be responsible for driving the growth of Beam’s portfolio, including Jim Beam® Bourbon, Sauza™ Tequila, Canadian Club® Whisky, Courvoisier® Cognac, Maker's Mark® Bourbon, Pinnacle® Vodka, Skinnygirl® Cocktails and more.
