“Our incredible spirits brands deliver exceptional quality and craftsmanship in every sip.”

Carlo leads our business operations in Canada and the US, Suntory Global Spirits’ largest and most profitable market.

Coppola began his career in the spirits industry in 2003 with Allied Domecq as Finance Manager, North America. In 2007, he joined Suntory Global Spirits as East Region Director of Marketing Activation, and in 2009, he transitioned to sales as the Metro New York State Manager. In that role, Carlo built his sales leadership skills, rising through the ranks, covering Franchise, Control and Open States commercial businesses within the US. In 2019, he was promoted to US Chief Commercial Officer where he was responsible for the full US sales and regional marketing organization and managed the expanded partnership between Suntory Global Spirits and Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.

Carlo’s strategic approach and diverse professional experience in Finance, Regional Marketing and Sales led him to become Global Managing Director of the James B. Beam Distilling Co. and, most recently, the President of American Whiskey & Tequila. In this role, he oversaw the P&L for the company’s priority bourbon brands, Jim Beam and Maker’s Mark, and its Tequila Portfolio that includes El Tesoro, Tres Generaciones and Hornitos.

Carlo is deeply invested in ensuring his team members are supported with the proper tools to develop their professional skills and pursue their career ambitions and makes it a top priority to ensure that DE&I remains a focus area for growth, not just for his team, but for Suntory Global Spirits overall.

Prior to joining the spirits industry, Carlo worked at both Arthur Andersen and Deloitte, becoming a CPA during that time. He graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and in 2023 completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He lives in Wilton, Connecticut with his wife Amanda and their four children.
